The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage assez strict. Elle est maintenue sous tension sur un châssis à clés et reste stable.
À la lumière rasante, il semble y avoir un ajout de 6 cm de large à la toile, le long du bord droit.
À la lumière naturelle, les détails du groupe de personnages semblent bien conservés, et les couleurs pleinement appréciables. On observe des retouches éparses dans le fond et la jupe de la mère. Un réseau de craquelures est visible à la surface de la peinture. Celui-ci a été stabilisé dans la zone supérieure gauche.
L'examen sous lumière UV confirme les observations ci-dessus. On observe quelques retouches mineures éparses, un comblement des craquelures sur la jupe de la mère et une griffure verticale restaurée qui traverse la jupe jaune.

The canvas has to subject to quite a strict reline; it is held under tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable. In raking light, it appears that there is an addition to the canvas of 6 cm in width that runs down the right edge.
In natural light the details of the figural group appear well preserved, with the strength of colour fully appreciable. Scattered retouching can be seen to the background and the mother's skirt. There is a pattern of craquelure that can be seen to the paint surface. This has been stabilised in the upper left quadrant.
Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. There is some further minor scattered touching, some infill to the craquelure in the mother's skirt, and a restored vertical scratch that runs through the yellow skirt.
