Le tableau est sur sa toile d'origine, correctement maintenue sous tension sur son châssis d'origine.

A l'oeil nu, le table a conservé un joli effet de pointillisme dans le ciel, ainsi que des effets de matière appréciables dans la partie inférieure du paysage.
On constate une zone de retouches importante d'approx. 11 x 6 cm au centre de la composition.

A l'UV, l'examen révèle des retouches ponctuelles dans les roseaux le long du bord gauche et à gauche du personnage. Sous un vernis fin, non uniforme.

The canvas is unlined, it is held under correct tension on its original stretcher.

The work has preserved a lovely pointillist effect in the sky, as well as pleasing textural qualities in the lower part of the landscape. In natural light , a significant area of retouching, approximately 11 × 6 cm, can be seen at the center of the composition.

Examination under ultraviolet light confirms the above and reveals small retouching in the reeds along the left edge and to the left of the figure. The painting is covered with a thin, uneven layer of varnish.
