The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage correctement réalisé. Le tableau est sur un châssis rapporté. Le support est stable.
A l’œil nu, le tableau a préservé de jolis glacis. On constate des repeints dans les nuages ayant légèrement viré.
A l’UV, on constate une restauration récente (approx. 25 cm de long) au niveau de la tunique de Diane, restaurant probablement un ancien accident, partant de son vente vers le bas de sa tunique (photo à l’UV disponible). On constate une autre restauration récente sous la tunique de Diane, au niveau du pied droit de Diane. On constate également des restaurations le long des quatre bords et quelques restaurations dans la partie inférieure, notamment une ligne de restauration oblique d’approx. 10 cm au niveau des rochers à gauche. Le tableau est sous un vernis uniforme ayant été légèrement allégé.
Dans un cadre en bois doré (approx. 107 x 152,5 x 7,5 cm).

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.
In natural light the painting appears to have retained its upper paint glazes well. There is some retouching in the clouds that has discoloured with age.
Examination under UV light reveals a recent restoration (approx. 25 cm. long) to Diana's tunic, probably repairing an old tear, this starts at her waist and extends to the bottom of her tunic (UV photo available). There is another recent restoration under Diana's tunic, to her right foot. There is also retouching along the four edges and some scattered retouching and restoration in the lower half of the painting, notably a diagonal line of restoration measuring approx. 10 cm. to the rocks on the left. The painting is under a uniform varnish that has been slightly cleaned.
