The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are the inevitable surface scratches, chips and abrasions due to age and handling.
As stated in the catalogue there are restorations with refreshments to the patina including to the hands and the proper left knee of the master.
The proper left arm of the master is missing.
A small loss in the upper back master's drapery.
Restorations on the back of the base with tinted plaster.
Some losses to the border of the base especially near the proper left calf of the student but it is not distracting because not visible at first sight.
Very interesting carving and subject. The terracotta is on a larger scale than might appear in the photographs.
