This very modern and somehow austere model of candlesticks was generally made in Spain and Spanish colonial areas in South America in the 17th century.
The Metropolitan Museum in New York holds in its collection a similar set of four dated 1662 and dedicated to Our Lady of the Pomegranate, acquired in 2017 with the Wrightsman Fellows Gifts (2017.356.1–.4) (see illustration).

Le Metropolitan Museun of Art à New York possède dans ses collections un ensemble de quatre dédiés à Our Lady of the Pomegranate gravés de la date 1662 et attribué au Pérou, acquis en 2017 par Wrightsman Fellows Gifts (2017.356.1–.4) (voir illustration).
