Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage ancien.
A l'oeil nu, on constate un léger manque vers le centre, dans la partie supérieure. Le tableau est sous un vernis sale, jauni.
A l'UV, on constate des petites retouches ponctuelles dans le ciel, ainsi que le long du bord supérieur. Sous un vernis vert ancien épais uniforme dissimulant peut-être d'anciennes restaurations.
Dans un cadre en bois et stuc doré avec un cartouche 'HUBERT ROBERT' (sic) (approx. 58 x 51 cm.).

The painting has been subject to an ancient relining.
To the naked eye, a small loss in the centre, in the upper part is noticeable. The painting is under a yellowish layer of varnish which carries some dirt.
Ultraviolet examination reveals small, scattered retouching to the sky and along the upper edge. Under a ancient, thick, even surface, green layer of varnish which precludes a more in depth examination of probable ancient restoration campaigns.
In a giltwood and golden stucco frame with a cartouche 'HUBERT ROBERT' (sic) (approx. 58 x 51 cm.).
