Ces deux intéressants culots représentant des soldats grimaçants, peuvent être rapprochés d'une tête d'homme conservée au musée du Louvre (inv. RF 437). Elle présente un visage masculin à l'aspect caricatural. Datant de la fin du XIIIe siècle ou du début du XIVe siècle, la tête du Louvre provient vraisemblablement de l'abbaye de Saint-Denis. Nous pouvons également citer une tête d'homme encapuchonnée provenant de l'abbaye de l'Epau, également au musée du Louvre, illustrée dans M. Aubert loc. cit., no 251).

These two interesting corbels representing grimacing soldiers can be compared to a corbel with a male head in the Musée du Louvre (inv. RF 437). It represents a male face with a caricatured appearance. Dating from the late 13th or early 14th century, the head from the Louvre probably comes from the Abbaye de Saint-Denis. There is also a possible comparison with a head of a man from the Abbaye de l'Epau, also in the Louvre, illustrated in Aubert loc. cit. no. 251.
