Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage un peu fort ayant tassé la matière picturale. Il est sur un châssis moderne à clés.

A l'oeil nu, on constate au niveau de la nappe une restauration grise ayant viré. Le tableau a fait probablement l'objet d'un nettoyage dans les fonds et par conséquent, la préparation rouge ressort légèrement par endroits.

A l'UV, on constate des restaurations ponctuelles dans les fonds, une restauration plus importante le long du bord supérieur et quelques restaurations autour des poissons. Le tableau est sous un vernis vert épais uniforme. Le vernis pourrait être allégé.

Dans un cadre en écaille (approx. 82 x 103 cm.).

The painting has been quite firmly relined, which may have flattened the paint layer. It is on a modern keyable stretcher.

To the naked eye, we can see a greyish discoloured restoration area on the napkin. The painting may have been subject to a cleaning process in the grounds, and the red preparation consequently stands out slightly in places.

Ultraviolet examination reveals scattered restoration to the grounds, a larger restoration along the upper edge and some restoration around the fish. The varnish could be lightened.
