Le tableau est peint sur un panneau de bois tendre non parqueté.

A l'oeil nu, le visage est bien préservé. On constate des traces de dessin sous-jacent. La chevelure a légèrement perdu en glacis.

A l'UV, on constate des retouches dans les fonds et des retouches ponctuelles dans le vêtement. Il semblerait que le noir du chapeau ait été repris. Le fond doré est récent. Sous un vernis fin, récent, avec des traces de vieux vernis sur les bords.

The painting has been executed on a softwood panel which is uncradled.

To the naked eye, the face remains well preserved. Preparatory drawing is noticeable in some parts. Some glazes have been lost in the hair.

Ultraviolet examination reveals retouching to the backgrounds and scattered retouching to the clothing. The black in he has been restored. The golden ground is recent. Under a thin, recent layer of varnish with some ancient varnish along the edges.
