The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau se présente dans un assez bon état général de conservation.
Il a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage réalisé dans la première moitié du XXe siècle.
A l'œil nu, on constate des repeints le long des quatre bords, principalement le long du bord inférieur.
A l'UV, on constate des restaurations dans la partie inférieure sur les rochers ainsi que dans le ciel sur le bord gauche. On constate les restaurations du bord supérieur précédemment citées ainsi que quelques restaurations ponctuelles dans le ciel. On constate aussi quelques restaurations au niveau du bateau au premier plan à droite. Il y a des restaurations dans le nuage blanc à droite du bateau. Sous un vernis vert uniforme assez fin. On ne constate pas de restaurations dans les parties centrales, dans le bateau et dans les personnages.

The painting is in a fairly good overall condition.
It was relined in the first half of the 20th century.
To the naked eye, there are restorations along all four edges, mainly along the lower edge.
Examination under UV lightning reveals restorations in the lower part on the rocks and in the sky on the left edge. The restorations of the upper edge afore mentioned are present, as well as some scattered restorations in the sky. There is also some restoration in the boat in the right foreground. There is quite a lot of restoration in the white cloud to the right of the boat. Under a rather thin uniform green coat of varnish. There are no restorations in the central parts and in the figures.
