We would like to thank Prof. Francesco Frangi for suggesting to compre this slate painting with the works of Giovanni Maria Arduino (around 1580-1647) and Giovan Battista Discepoli, known as 'lo Zoppo da Lugano' (1590-1660), two Lombard painters who were influenced by the art of Pier Francesco Mazzucchelli (1573-1626).
