The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau se présente dans un bon état de conservation général.

Il a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage il y a moins d’une cinquantaine d’années qui a été un peu fort et a donc tassé la matière picturale.

A l’œil nu on ne constate pas de restaurations récentes.

A l’UV, on constate des restaurations le long des quatre bords probablement dus à des frottements du cadre. On distingue des restaurations ponctuelles dans la gueule du chat. Les parties sombres du rideau ont été rechargées.

The painting is in a good overall condition.

It has been relined less than fifty years ago. The relining has been a bit firm and correspondingly the paint surface has been marginally flattened.

To the naked eye, there is no evidence of recent restoration campaigns.

Under UV, retouches are visible along the four edges, probably caused by frame abrasion. One can see punctual restoration campaigns in the mouth of the cat. The dark parts of the curtain have been restored.
