Le tableau est peint sur un panneau parqueté. Le support est stable, légèrement convexe.

A l'oeil nu, on constate une léger griffure dans le ciel, à droite et au-dessus du clocher. Les bruns du personnage accompagné de son chien, assis à côté de la fontaine, en bas, à gauche, semblent avoir été remontés. On constate quelques manques le long des bords gauche, inférieur et droit, probablement causés par le frottement du cadre. Les couleurs, personnages et éléments d'architectures sont bien préservés. Les figures ont gardé une belle lisibilité.

A l'UV, on constate des retouches ponctuelles dans le ciel ainsi que dans le fleuve, en bas, à droite. On constate également les retouches dans les bruns susmentionnées, ainsi que dans les bruns des frondaisons. Le tableau est sous un vernis uniforme, récent. Bel état général aux UV.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc doré à motifs floraux, travail moderne, avec un cartouche 'MATHIJS SCHOEVAERDTS / 1690' (approx. 40 x 56 cm.).

The painting has been executed on a cradled panel. The medium remains stable and is slightly convex.

To the naked eye, a light scratch can be seen in the sky, above and of the right of the bell tower. The brown parts in the figure with the dog, who is seated close to the fountain, in the lower left corner, seem to have been strengthened. Some losses along the left, right and lower edges are noticeable. They are probably due to frame abrasion. The colours, figures and architecture elements remain well preserved. The figures present well.

Ultraviolet examination reveals some scattered retouching to the sky and to the river, in the lower right part. The afore mentioned retouching to the brown areas is also noticeable, as well as in the brown parts of the trees. The painting is under a recent, even surface layer of varnish. Good overall condition under ultraviolet examination.
