Le tableau est peint sur un panneau parqueté probablement aminci. Au revers du panneau, et sur le parquetage, on constate des cavités d'insectes xylophages. Le support est stable.

A l'oeil nu, on constate des restaurations dans le ciel. Le tableau semble avoir perdu quelques glacis dans le paysage. Néanmoins, les animaux et les figures possèdent un joli modelé.

A l'UV, on constate des retouches sur l'ensemble de la composition ainsi que le long d'anciennes fentes au panneau, peut-être au niveau des jointures de planches, et d'une ancienne griffure. Le tableau a fait l'objet d'une campagne de restauration récente, correctement réalisée. Il est accrochable en l'état. Sous un vernis récent uniforme.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 62 x 85 cm.).

The painting is executed on oak panel, this has been cradled and may have been slightly thinned. There is evidence of historic woodworm, this is not active. The panel remains stable.

In natural light some retouching can be seen in the sky, and there has been some slight thinning to the upper paint glazes in the landscape. The detail of the birds and the figure and the overall delicacy of the composition remain fully appreciable.

Examination under UV light reveals minor scattered retouching overall, and some restoration associated with the horizontal panel joins. The painting has been recently restored with great sensitivity. The varnish is clean and even. The paint remains stable.
