43 x 39 cm.).

The painting is executed on a panel made up of a single board, bevelled to the edges. There is a minor hole in the centre of the panel viewed from the reverse that would have held a picture hook previously. There is evidence of historic woodworm. This is not active. The panel is stable.
In natural light some retouching can be seen in the lower left corner, this has discoloured with time. The sitter’s face is in a good state of preservation, with the details fully appreciable.
Examination under UV light reveals some recent retouching in the dark areas of the composition and in the model’s hair. There has been some strengthening to the browns in the costume and the table. There is some scattered retouching in the landscape. There is a fine network of craquelure, which has had some infilling in the darker areas of the composition. The painting has been recently revarnished. The paint remains stable.
In a Louis XIII style frame (approx. 43 x 39 cm.).
