68 x 57 cm.).

The painting has been executed on leather, laid down on canvas. The supporting canvas has itself been subject to relining. The leather support is relatively brittle. It presents a convex curvature to the upper quartile, and appears to have been folder horizontally, with the fold line visible across the centre of the painting. The painting appears to have been cut from its stretcher in the past, with historic cuts visible to the edges of the leather.
In natural light scattered retouching can be seen overall, most notably in the red table cloth, and in the background. Some of these are associated with historic lifting of the paint, which has been stabilised. The figure presents well, with the essential modeling fully appreciable, despite some small retouching to the flesh tones. There is a yellowed varnish that carries some dirt, this might benefit from a light clean.
Examination under UV light confirms the aforementioned restorations and retouching. The thick varnish precludes a more in-depth examination.
In a painted wooden frame (approx. 68 x 57 cm.).
