The paper is dirty and yellowed with foxing. It is fully laid down on a canvas and mounted on a stretcher. Some mould are visible on the surface (especially on the one with the shepherds). Some nice tests of watercolours are visible along the edges, covered by the frame. In a gilt wood frame, inserted in an oval with an old label of the framer: 'Rofs Manufactory, Portland chapel'.
