The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Les tableaux ont fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. Les supports sont stables.
On constate que les deux tableaux ont préservé de beaux effets de matière et sont dans un bon état général. Les détails des éléments de natures mortes sont en effet appréciables.

A l'oeil nu, on constate quelques retouches ponctuelles, principalement dans les tons sombres (pour le tableau au cochon d'Inde : à gauche du cochon d'Inde, sur l'entablement, en-dessous de la grenade où l'on constate trois zones de restaurations associées à d'anciens manques).

A l'UV, on constate les observations susmentionnées ainsi qu'une zone de restauration sur le pichet et, plus importante, dans le coin droit du tableau avec le cochon d'Inde. Sur l'autre tableau, on constate les observations susmentionnées ainsi que des restaurations associées à une couture de toile horizontale le long du bord inférieur du tableau. Les deux tableaux sont sous un vernis épais qui occulent d'éventuelles campagnes de restauration antérieures.

La matière reste stable.

Dans des cadres en bois sculpté peints (approx. 83 x 104 cm.).

The canvases have been subject to relining; they are held under tension and remain stable.

In natural light the paintings present very well, with much of the paint surface nicely preserved and the details of the still lives fully appreciable. There is evidence of some scattered retouching in the darker areas of the compositions; notably, in the painting with the guinea pig there are three zones of restoration on the ledge beneath the pomegranate associated with historic losses.

Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. There is further retouching visible in the composition with the guinea pig above the jug and in the lower right corner. On the other painting retouching associated with a canvas seam along the lower edge can be seen. Both paintings have a thick varnish that precludes a more in depth examination. The paint remains stable.
