La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage qui a pu tasser la matière picturale. Le support est stable.
A l'oeil nu, on constate quelques retouches ponctuelles (ex. : la robe du modèle) mais la composition d'ensemble a préservé un joli modelé, particulièrement au niveau de la vielle et des manches.
A l'UV, on constate les observations susmentionnées. On constate une autre campagne de restauration, antérieure, partiellement occultée par l'épaisseur du vernis.
La matière reste stable.
Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 105 x 87 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. The relining process has slightly flattened the impasto in some areas.
The painting presents well in natural light, notably with the detailing of the sleeves and instrument well preserved. There is evidence of some scattered retouching, most noticeable in the dress.
Examination under UV light confirms the above. There is evidence of one older campaign of restoration; however, the varnish precludes a more in-depth examination. The paint remains stable.
In a giltwood frame (approx. 105 x 87 cm.).
