DUTCH SCHOOL 17th CENTURY, FOLLOWER OF WILLEM CLAESZ. HEDA, STILL LIFE WITH OYSTERS AND A PEWTER JUG, OIL ON PANEL

This painting is similar to the compositions by Willem Claesz. Heda (1594-1690), an emblematic figure of the Haarlem school, painted around 1637. The National Museum of Finland (Helsinki, no. inv. 114) and the Muzeum Narodowe w Warszavie (Warsaw, no. inv. M.Ob.583 MNW) both hold a still life by the painter dated 1637 in which the overturned silver cup and the glass visible in the present composition can be found.

Ce tableau est à rapprocher des compositions que Willem Claesz. Heda (1594-1690), figure emblématique de l’école de Haarlem, peint vers 1637. Le National Museum of Finland (Helsinki, no. inv. 114) et le Muzeum Narodowe w Warszavie (Varsovie, no. inv. M.Ob.583 MNW) conservent tous deux une nature morte du peintre datée 1637 dans laquelle on retrouve le verre à pied en argent renversé et l'autre verre visibles sur notre composition.
