Vue de Rome, avec le château Saint-Ange

Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage un peu fort qui a pu tasser la matière picturale.

A l'oeil nu, on constate une ancienne campagne de restauration au bitume ayant viré dans les éléments architecturaux. On constate également une griffure dans le ciel à droite.

A l'UV, on constate les campagnes de restauration susmentionnées. Sous un vernis opaque uniforme.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 53 x 57 cm.).

Vue de Naples (?)

Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage un peu fort qui a pu tasser la matière picturale.

A l'oeil nu, on constate des retouches ponctuelles dans le ciel, les architectures et la mer. On constate également quelques manques qui ont fait l'objet de restaurations, principalement dans la partie supérieure gauche. Le tableau est sous un vernis épais, encrassé.

A l'UV, on constate les campagnes de restauration susmentionnées. Sous un vernis opaque uniforme.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 51 x 62 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to a strict relining, which has somewhat affected the paint layers.

In natural light an historic campaign of restoration can be seen, notably in the architectural elements, where the later bitumen has separated. There is a small scratch in the sky at upper right.

Examination under UV light confirms the aforementioned campaign of restoration. There is a thick opaque varnish that precludes further examination.

In a gilt wood and stucco frame (approx. 53 x 57 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to a strict relining, which has somewhat affected the paint layers.

In natural light scattered retouching can be seen in the sky, the architectural elements and the sea. There are some minor scattered losses that have been restored, notably at upper left. There is a think yellowed varnish.

Examination under UV light confirms the aforementioned campaign of restoration. The varnish precludes further examination.
