Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage récent, un peu fort, ayant pu tasser la matière picturale par endroits. Le support est stable.

A l'oeil nu, on constate un petit accident restauré dans les arbres à droite. Le tableau est quelque peu encrassé.

A l'UV, on constate des retouches ponctuelles dans le ciel ainsi que dans les arbres, certaines branches ayant été un peu renforcées. On constate la restauration dans les arbres précédemment mentionnée. Les personnages sont dans l'ensemble bien préservés. Sous un vernis sale dissimulant d'anciennes campagnes de restauration. Le tableau pourrait bénéficier d'un léger nettoyage. Traces de vieux vernis par endroits.

Dans un cadre à l'imitation de l'écaille de style XVIIe (approx. 61 x 77 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to recent relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. The relining process has flattened the painted surface in areas.

The painting presents well in natural light. There is a small restored damage in the trees to the right. The varnish carries some dirt; this would benefit from a light clean.

Examination under UV light confirms these observations. It further reveals some scattered retouching in the sky, and the trees, where some of the branches have been strengthened. The figures remain well preserved. The thickness of the varnish precludes a more in depth examination. The paint remains stable.

In an imitation tortoiseshell frame, of 17^th century style (approx. 61 x 77 cm.).
