JEAN-BAPTISTE FRANÇOIS JOSEPH PATER, FÊTE GALANTE IN A WOODED LANDSCAPE, OIL ON CANVAS

We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Christoph Martin Vogtherr for confirming the attribution to Jean-Baptiste François Pater (1695-1736) based on an examination of a photographic reproduction of the work and for pointing out that this composition is based on the group of figures in the background of the painting Fête galante dans un paysage boisé by Antoine Watteau (1684-1721), in the Wallace Collection (London, inv. no. 391).
