The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau se présente à l'oeil nu dans un très bel état général. Le tableau a préservé de beaux effets de matière dans les feuillages, le ciel et les personnages. Le tableau peut tout à fait être accroché en l'état. Ce tableau est sous un vernis fin, préservant la lisibilité de l'oeuvre.

Le tableau est sur sa toile d'origine. Le châssis n'est par contre pas d'origine. La marque au tampon de la collection de la duchesse de Berry est visible au revers de la toile, en bas.

A l'UV, on constate des retouches associées au réseau de craquelures. La matière reste stable.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc doré avec motifs de rais-de-coeur et de palmettes, de style Charles X, avec une inscription partiellement effacée 'ROBERT' (approx. 63 x 55 cm.).

The canvas is unlined but has been re-stretched on a newer stretcher. It is held under tension and remains stable. The canvas has the stamp of the duchesse de Berry to the reverse.

In natural light the painting presents very well, with the details of the composition beautifully preserved, notably in the foliage, the sky and the figures. There is a clean, even varnish.

Examination under UV reveals some very minor infill connected with the network of craquelure. The paint remains stable.
