De forme rectangulaire sur quatre pied-boules, ciselé sur toutes les faces d’animaux incluant oiseaux exotiques, lapin et chien dans les enroulements feuillagés, le couvercle à charnière decoré de Memento Mori figurant deux chérubins assis sur des crânes, l'un tenant un sablier, l'autre faisant des bulles et appliqué d’une anse en double enroulement, sur le fond un Pégase dans un médaillon ovale, les montures gravées de motifs stylisés, le montant central sur pivot pour révéler la serrure, la clé postérieure, l’intérieur du couvercle agrémenté d’un mécanisme de serrure en fer

Rectangular on four ball feet, the cover chased with Memento Mori depicting two putti each seated on a skull, one with hourglass, the other blowing bubbles, with central swing handle and strip above the keyhole, the sides with birds and foliage, the ends with a rabbit and dog, the angles and sides with openwork lyre-shaped straps, the base with Pegasus, the interior of the cover with elaborate iron mechanism, with applied gilt cross and later key
