Oval with double lid, the sides chased in high relief with foliate scrolls and animal between two gadrooned borders, the two lids chased and engraved on one side with Saint Anthony of Padua and on the other with Saint Jerome framed by a frieze identical to the sides, the inside of the lids engraved for one with a centered cross with the inscription 'BOIS DE LA VRAYE CROIX' around the name of saints: St GEORGE / St EURENYON ABBE / St ETIENNE M / St YRENEE M / St LUCIDE M/ St MARC M / St JOSEPH / St CIREMIUS M / DUCHEF St JUST M/ St CIPRIEN / St ZCREPION M/ St BERTHELEMY, and on the other in the center CHENE DE Ste MADEL framed by Ste FLORE VM / Ste SABINE VM/ Ste LUCE VM/ Ste DONATE VM/ Ste MARTHE VM/ Ste VICTORIE VM/ DUNE DES XI MIL VIERGES/ PAIN DAGNUS DEI DES PLUS RELIQU DESS MAR, each compartment applied with a relief decoration repeating the model of that engraved in the lid, with suspension ring, apparently unmarked

The construction and decoration of this reliquary suggest that it is a watch case. It resembles watches in the Paul Garnier collection in the Louvre Museum, Paris such as OA 7020 dated 1600-1615 with a movement signed Charles Peyras active in Blois, or OA 7027, also dated 1600-1615 with a movement signed Dominique Duc active in Loches; both cities are Centre Val de Loir in Indre-et-Loire not far from Tours.
