Le tableau est exécuté sur un panneau de bois agrandi le long des quatre bords d’approx. 1,2 cm au moyen de baguettes de bois. Le panneau d’origine et les quatre baguettes de bois ont été contreplaqués, et l’ensemble a par la suite été parqueté. On constate, au revers du panneau, que deux éléments de bois appartenant au panneau de contre-plaquage ont été perdus dans le coin inférieur droit. L'ensemble est stable.

A l’œil nu, on constate les quatre baguettes de bois susmentionnées. Des restaurations ayant viré associées à ces ajouts sont visibles dans les coins inférieurs gauche et droit. Un manque y est également associé dans le coin inférieur droit. On constate des traces de frottement d’un ancien cadre le long des bords gauche, inférieur et supérieur. Le tableau apparaît sous un vernis très épais et brillant, sur lequel sont visibles deux griffures horizontales dans la partie droite.

L’examen à l’UV confirme les observations susmentionnées et révèle une restauration dans le coin supérieur droit. Le tableau est sous un vernis épais qui empêche un examen approfondi des campagnes de restauration antérieures.

The painting is executed on a wooden panel enlarged along all four edges by approx. 1.2 cm using wooden strips. The original panel and the four wooden strips have been laid down on a wooden support and subsequently cradled. To the reverse of the panel, two pieces of wood from the support board have been lost in the bottom right-hand corner. The whole remains stable.

In natural light, the four wooden strips mentioned above are visible. Faded restorations associated with these additions are visible in the lower left and right corners. The is a small loss in the lower right hand corner. There are traces of historic frame abrasion along the left, lower and upper edges. The painting is covered in a very thick, glossy varnish, with two horizontal scratches in the right-hand corner.

UV examination confirms the above observations and reveals restoration in the upper right-hand corner. The painting is under a thick varnish that prevents a thorough examination of previous restoration campaigns.
