The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The item was tested by Professor Ernst-Ludwig Richter and the results show that the body is 17th century and the head later 19th century.

light wear to gilding on contact points. Seamlines visible in places. Small nicks to the collar flange. Light bruising to the medallion engraved with arms. Lead repair to one of the antler with corresponding hairline crack. Three tips bent and one possibly shortened. Hairline split to one ear at junction to the head. Small dent to the other ear.
Later plinth with some light wear to the black tint on ridges.
