The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est exécuté sur une plaque de cuivre, non parquetée, cintrée dans sa partie supérieure. La plaque est stable, et ne présente pas de courbure particulière.

A l’œil nu, le tableau a préservé une belle profondeur dans le rendu des couleurs.
On constate un très léger réseau de craquelures réparti sur l’ensemble de la composition, davantage visible dans les tons clairs sans néanmoins affecter la lisibilité de l’œuvre. On constate sur l’ensemble de la composition des restaurations ponctuelles ayant viré. Celles-ci sont associées à d’anciens comblements du réseau de craquelures. Un ancien petit manque est visible dans le coin inférieur gauche, le long du bord gauche.
On constate que les couches picturales supérieures ont été amincies dans les bruns.
Le tableau est sous un vernis encrassé, qui mériterait d’être nettoyé.

L’examen à l’UV confirme les observations susmentionnées et révèle au moins deux campagnes de restauration. La plus importante consiste en le renforcement des drapés et des visages des figures. Le sol, le paysage central et les nuages ont également été rehaussés. Sous un vernis épais qui cache peut-être des restaurations antérieures.

Dans un cadre en bois doré à vue cintrée dans sa partie supérieure (approx. 41,5 x 30 x 4,5 cm).

The painting is executed on an unparqueted copper plate, curved at the top. The plate is stable and has no particular curvature.

In natural light, the painting has preserved a beautiful depth of colour.There is a very slight network of craquelure throughout the composition, which is more visible in the lighter tones but does not affect the legibility of the work. Throughout the composition, there is evidence of spot restorations that have faded. These are associated with old fillings in the network of cracks. An old small gap is visible in the lower left corner, along the left edge.
The upper paint layers have been thinned in the browns.
The painting is under a dirty varnish, which needs to be cleaned.

UV examination confirms the above observations and reveals at least two restoration campaigns. The most important consists of reinforcing the drapery and the faces of the figures. The ground, the central landscape and the clouds have also been enhanced. Under a thick varnish that may hide earlier restorations.
