152 x 121 x 5 cm).
English
The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.
In natural light we can see some restoration to the backgrounds that has discoloured slightly with age, notably along the left and right edges. There is a more pronounced network of craquelure in the upper part of the composition. There is some retouching in the face, notably on the nose and chin, which has slightly discoloured. The painting is under dry varnish.
Examination under UV light confirms the above observations, it further reveals some retouching in the book and lower right-hand corner.
In a painted wooden frame (approx. 152 x 121 x 5 cm).
