Le tableau est peint sur un panneau de bois composé de deux planches verticales ayant été parqueté. Le panneau est droit et stable.

A l'oeil nu, le tableau a préservé une belle douceur dans le rendu des visages de la Vierge et de l'Enfant.
On constate des retouches ayant viré sur l'ensemble de la composition, tout particulièrement dans le fond brun et les drapés.
Un début de fente verticale ayant été restaurée est visible dans le coin supérieur droit. La jointure de planche susmentionnée est également visible.
Des traces d'abrasion ponctuelles liées au frottement du cadre sont visible le long des bords.

Le tableau est sous un vernis épais ne permettant pas de constater les différentes campagnes de restauration que l'on devine à l'oeil nu.

Dans un cadre en bois doré (approx. 70 x 58 x 3 cm) - restaurations.

The painting is executed on a panel made up of two vertically joined boards, this has been cradled. The whole remains stable.

The painting has preserved a beautiful softness in the rendering of the faces of the Virgin and Child.

In natural light some scattered retouching can be seen throughout the composition, particularly in the brown background and drapery. In the upper right-hand corner, there is a short, restored vertical crack. The panel join can also be seen. There are traces of frame abrasion visible along the panel edges.

The painting is under a thick varnish that precludes a more in depth examination under UV.
