Le tableau est exécuté sur un panneau de bois composé de deux planches assemblées horizontalement. Vu du revers, la jointure est renforcée par trois taquets verticaux. Le panneau est biseauté le long des bords gauche et droit. Le panneau, aminci et fragilisé dans la partie inférieure gauche, est renforcé à cet endroit par un taquet horizontal. L'ensemble est stable.
A l'oeil nu, on constate la jointure de planches susmentionnée s'étendant horizontalement au centre de la composition sur toute sa largeur ainsi qu'un début de fente dans le coin inférieur droit qui s'étend horizontalement sur approx. 11 cm en partant du bord droit.
Les couches supérieures de matière picturale ont été amincies sur l'ensemble de la composition. Le rendu du feuillage dans le coin supérieur droit est néanmoins mieux conservé. Le tableau est sous un vernis fin, homogène.
L'examen à l'UV confirme les restaurations susmentionnées associées à la jointure de planches et au début de fente. L'examen révèle une campagne de restaurations ponctuelles dans le ciel, dans le coin supérieur droit, dans l'herbe au centre et dans les corps d'Adam et Eve.

The painting is executed on a wooden panel consisting of two boards joined horizontally. Seen from the reverse, the joint is reinforced by three vertical cleats. The panel is beveled along the left and right edges. The panel, thinned to the lower left, is reinforced at this point by a horizontal cleat. The whole is stable.
To the naked eye, the aforementioned panel join can be seen extending horizontally across the entire width of the composition in the center. There is also the beginning of a crack in the lower right-hand corner, extending horizontally for approx. 11 cm from the right-hand edge.
The upper layers of paint have been thinned throughout the composition. The rendering of the foliage in the upper right-hand corner is nevertheless nicely preserved. The painting is under a fine, homogeneous varnish.
UV examination shows restorations associated with the board joint and the crack. It further reveals some minor scattered retouching in the sky to the upper right corner, in the grass in the center and in the bodies of Adam and Eve.
