The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La tension de la toile est bonne.
A l'oeil nu le tableau possède une jolie matière et de jolis empâtements dans les feuilles. Il est cependant encrassé et sous un vernis très jaune.
A lumière rasante, on constate la déchirure restaurée au revers de la toile.
L'examen à la lampe UV révèle la restauration au niveau de la déchirure (4x5 cm environ) ainsi qu'une restauration récente légère au niveau du sol.
Le tableau est sous un vernis ancien, épais, avec un vernis plus récent au niveau de la déchirure. Il semblerait qu'une ancienne campagne de restauration apparaisse plus difficilement dans les nuages, dans la partie gauche de la peinture.

The painting is unlined. On the reverse, the center of the composition has been restored to restore a tear.Canvas tension is good. Racking light reveals the restored tear on the reverse of the canvas. The painting is under an old, thick varnish, with a more recent varnish at the level of the tear.
