The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est peint sur une toile ayant fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. Le revers de la toile n'est pas accessible et est protégé par une plaque de plastique polycarbonate agrafée au châssis. La tension de la toile est bonne.
Le tableau possède une jolie matière et a préservé de beaux glacis.
A l'UV, on constate des retouches dans certains drapés (les plis noirs de la robe ont été legèrement rechargés) et on constate quelques retouches ponctuelles dans le cou du personnage central et dans le front du personnage allongé. Quelques retouches ponctuelles disséminées sur le reste de la composition.
Le tableau est sous un vernis fin, récement nettoyé.
Dans un cadre en bois doré (approx. 60,5 x 52,5 x 4,5 cm).

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under correct tension on a stretcher and remains stable. The back of the canvas is not visible, as there is a polycarbonate plastic sheet attached to the stretcher.
The painting presents well in natural light, is has retained very nice paint layers and upper glazes.
Examination under UV reveals some retouching in some of the drapery, notably in the black folds of the dress, which have been slightly strengthened. There is some minor scattered retouching in the neck of the woman sitting on the bed and the forehead of the woman lying down. There is some further minor scattered retouching across the composition.
The painting is under a fine varnish, which appears to have been recently cleaned.
In a giltwood frame (approx. 60,5 x 52,5 x 4,5 cm).
