Double-page woodcut map, fully coloured by a contemporary hand, oriented with west to the top, the landmass illustrated with many depictions of indigenous peoples, a number practising archery, others using axes and other implements for forestry, native settlements shown including a large native hut with hammock, wildlife illustrated by llamas, monkeys and brightly-coloured birds, a central volcano towards the Andes provides the source for rivers flowing north (the Maranon) and south (the Plate), the sea with French and Portuguese ships, sea monsters, a number of islands and shoals, 264 x 362mm.
