Large folding engraved thematic world map, presented on Mercator's projection, printed on laid paper with large armorial watermark and watermarked initials 'IV', title within rococo cartouche, Alaska shown as an archipelago of islands, the north-west coast of North America quite incomplete with sketched outline of a river flowing westwards from the Great Lakes to the Pacific, the Great Lakes themselves with an extended number of similarly large lakes to their north, Baffin Bay presented as a huge sea, Australia with an incomplete coastline and with Tasmania attached to the mainland, the coastline of New Zealand completed, hatched regional zoological divisions with animal names or lettered or numbered key, explanatory letterpress text and key in Latin printed overslips and pasted onto panels in lower portion of map, 503 x 706mm.
