The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Pen and India ink on tracing paper with blue ball-point pen squaring. Attached to a paper mount (slightly discolored in two places at the reverse sheet). One or two small brown stains on the angel’s stomach and four traces of brown crayon towards the upper edge, most likely dating from the time of execution. Two small areas of staining and tracing paper rippling due to the mounting glue showing through the front. One small foxmark towards the lower sheet edge. The ink is very strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our opinion that this work appears to be in generally very good condition.

Plume et encre de Chine sur papier calque avec mise à carreaux au stylo bleu. Attaché au papier de montage (légèrement décoloré à deux endroits au revers de la feuille). Une ou deux petites tâches brunes sur le ventre de l’ange ainsi que quatre traces de crayon brun vers le bord supérieur, datant probablement de l’exécution. Deux petites tâches ainsi que des ondulations du papier claque dues à la présence de la colle de montage au recto. Une petite marque de piqûre vers le bord inférieur de la feuille. L’encre est très vive et fraîche sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparaît en très bonne condition générale.
