The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Pen and brush and India ink and pastel on wove paper. Hinged to the mount in two places at the reverse sheet edges. Watermarked ‘ARCHES’. The lower and left sheet edge are deckled. A small water stain at the lower right corner dating from the time of execution. Two or three nicks at the upper and right sheet edges. The ink and the pastel are very strong very fresh. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our opinion that this work appears to be in generally very good condition.

Plume et encre de Chine et pastel sur papier vélin. Le revers de la feuille est maintenu au montage à deux endroits le long de l’extrémité du bord supérieur. Filigrané ‘ARCHES’. Le bord inférieur et le bord gauche de la feuille sont non-ébarbés. Une petite tâche d’eau dans le coin inférieur droit datant de l’époque de l’exécution. Deux ou trois encoches sur les bords supérieur et droit de la feuille. L’encre et le pastel sont très vifs et très frais sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparaît en très bonne condition générale.
