The cast hoop is of penannular form, tapering to duck-head terminals, their heads turned back. At the back of each head extends a pin inserted into the carnelian tabloid. One face is engraved with a plunging bull on a thin groundline, its head lowered and right foreleg bent acutely. The reverse is engraved with a single Greek letter, Λ. For the subject compare the chalcedony scaraboid in Cambridge, pl. 898 in J. Boardman, Greek Gems and Finger Rings.
