Lot Essay

Venus is depicted nude but for a mantle around her legs, her body shown frontally with her head turned in profile. She leans onto a column with her elbow, and holds a palm branch in her lowered hand. In her other hand she holds a plump bird. She is accompanied by two eroti, one holding a pedum and offering her a wreath, and one holding up a mirror.
