The cover reserved with a pale-yellow-ground circular panel painted en grisaille with Cupid embracing a young putto, perhaps Psyche, within an ombrierte gilt laurel cartouche issuing flowers and foliage, the sides with groupings of ombrierte flowers and foliage, one with a palm frond and another with laurels, the underside with an amatory trophy with billing doves, the interior with a lady at her toilet, snipping her hair with scissors, a gentlemen beside her, the mount moulded and chased with flowers and scrolls
