The model is listed in an entry in Kaendler's Taxa of 20 November 1745: 'Ein Groupgen, da eine Schäffern auff einem Rasen sizt und auff der Laute spielet, neben ihr stehet ein Schäffer, so ihr ein Blühmigem Vergißmeinnicht verehret' (a group of a shepherdess seated on the grass and playing on the lute, a shepherd stands beside her offering her forget-me-nots), see J.
