Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In very good overall condition. With minor rubbing and wear to the gilt and painted decoration throughout. The cover with a minute extended firing crack to the rim of the underside. Some minor scratches to the stand. The foot of the stand stamped '9' on it's interior side.
An XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) test was carried out by The Centre for Archaeological and Forensic Analysis at Cranfield University, confirming that the enamels on this object are consistent with the published data for enamels on other Meissen porcelain dating from the first half of the 18th century.
