AMERICAN INTERIOR DESIGN – Group of 26 books on American interior design, many presented to Mica Ertegun. 20th–21st centuries.

From the working library of MAC II, this collection of books on American interior design is a tribute to Mica Ertegun and Chessy Rayner’s legacy as two of the world’s leading designers. Since first uniting to found their design firm in 1967, the pair crafted a strong portfolio of projects that lead them to Manhattan’s premiere penthouses, the Mediterranean's most scenic villas and Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store. The reference library of MAC II, housed in their offices on the Upper East Side, stretches back to the first days of their partnership, with titles dating from the heyday of Frank Lloyd Wright to the present moment of Vera Wang and other contemporary figures. This selection of American interior design books is perhaps most valuable for tracing the connexions that Mrs Ertegun in particular formed across her lifelong career – with presentation copies from Judith Price, Tiffy Dahl and Donald Kaufman, David Rockwell and many others – and for charting those who she turned to for inspiration.
