The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In decorative condition. With scattered nicks, faint marks and surface scratches. The painted Japanned decoration lifting, flaking, cracking and with some small losses; likely refreshed in some areas. The parquetry veneer with age and construction cracks, some of which are now more pronounced and some with associated minor repairs. The lower tray has been off and reluged. The upper tray with some white paint residue. The bamboo frame with minor surface wear and some minor repair, primarily to the roundels that support the tray. The trays vary slightly in design, as stated, and the lower tier may be later associated.
