The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is some minor rubbing in places, predominantly to the extreme edges. There are some hairline cracks in places, predominantly to the areas with thick impasto. There are a few minor spots of paint loss to the lower horizontal edge and the centre of the upper horizontal edge. When examined under UV light there are a few areas that fluoresce unevenly, related to minor consolidation, filling and retouching to the surface of the canvas. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
