The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is laid down onto a panel that is flat and stable. The edges are slightly uneven with minor frame abrasion. The canvas is delaminating from the panel in each upper extreme corner. A stretcher bar mark along the upper edge and a few minor hairline surface abrasions in the lower register. Under ultraviolet light, a small horizontal line of inpainting extending from the center left edge and three small spots in the boat at right, visible in natural light. A minor concentration of small spots along the right edge.
