Lot Essay

The Isle of Oxney is a hill rising out of Romney Marsh just north of Iden, East Sussex, where Paul Nash and his family moved in 1925. Arthur Knyvett-Lee and Anthony Maxtone Graham founded the Redfern Gallery at 27 Old Bond Street, London in 1923.
