Lot Essay

A midinette is a seamstress in a Parisian fashion house. Hugh Kenner (1923-2003) was a north American literary scholar, critic and professor, best known for his work on modernist literature. His book The Pound Era, (1971), was responsible for enshrining Ezra Pound's reputation as one of the greatest Modernists. He also wrote Wyndham Lewis (1954).
