Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Bucket, mop and enamel paint, unique. The mop is a free-standing element with some minor paint losses to the handle, rusting to the metal element, and dirt to the mop head, all consistent with a found object of this age. The mop’s head is attached to the handle with one screw and is slightly loose. The bucket and starfish are attached to each other, and the join with evidence of previous restoration. Surface dirt and rusting throughout both elements consistent with age and medium. Subject to the above it is our opinion that the work appears to be in good overall condition.
